A joint study by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) reported that neck gaiters are just as effective as cloth masks in providing protection from coronavirus – carrying respiratory droplets. Furthermore, research done by the University of Georgia showed that a double-layered neck gaiter can provide an 81% reduction in respiratory droplets and a multi-layered gaiter can provide a 96% average reduction. Essentially, the more layered the gaiter is the better the protection.
